The origin of light steel structure villas and their development history in China
Introduction
In recent years, under the strong promotion of the country, prefabricated light steel structure buildings have developed rapidly in China and have been well popularized. However, many people still have a limited understanding of light steel and feel that light steel structure houses seem to have suddenly appeared out of thin air.
In fact, this is not the case. Today, I will popularize the origin of light steel structure villas and their development history in China.
The origin of light steel villas
Metal structures have actually been used in building houses very early, and their history is long, dating back to the late 18th century in Britain. In 1851, London, England, used cast iron structures to build the Crystal Palace of the first World Expo. In 1889, Paris, France, built the Eiffel Tower at the World Expo. Calculating the time, humans have been using steel structures to build houses for about 120 years.
The architectural system of light steel structure houses originated from the construction technology of light wood structure houses in North America, and gradually evolved on its basis. After World War II, many countries such as the United States, France, and Japan accelerated the process of urbanization, and the population of cities increased dramatically, requiring a large number of civilian houses. Light steel structure buildings are vigorously promoted by the country because of their high construction efficiency and good quality control.
Due to years of development in Europe and the United States, the steel structure building system has become very mature and has become one of the mainstreams in the local construction market. Today, this building system is widely used in the United States, Japan, Britain, France, Sweden, Canada, Australia, Italy, Denmark, etc.
The development of light steel villas in China
In 1958
The first cold bending and rolling was manufactured, and then the first light steel structure building plant was established.
In the late 1970s
Light steel structure villas were introduced from foreign countries. At that time, it was mainly some domestic builders who imported some two-story and three-story light steel houses from the United States, Japan, Australia and other countries.
1987
"Technical Specification for Cold-formed Thin-walled Steel Structure" (GBJ18-87) was promulgated in China. This is also the first cold-formed steel structure design standard, which provides industry specifications for the light steel construction market.
In the early 1980s
Light steel structure buildings were initially developed in China. Although light steel keels and some other materials were imported from foreign countries, some basic construction and material assembly could be completed independently.
In the 1990s
China clearly put forward the strategic policy of residential industrialization. The light steel structure building system has been developed abroad for many years and is quite mature. It should be widely promoted and applied in the development of residential industrialization.
In the early 21st century
In 2002, the Ministry of Construction issued the "Technical Guidelines for the Industrialization of Steel Structure Integrated Residential Buildings", and pilot projects of prefabricated buildings blossomed all over the country.
From 2011 to 2018
"Technical Code for Low-rise Cold-formed Thin-walled Steel House Construction" JGJ 227-2011 was officially promulgated and implemented, and China's light steel construction market became more and more standardized.
Light steel villas are not a novelty. They have been developed abroad for many years and the technology is relatively mature. China has introduced and promoted this type of prefabricated housing early on, and has given full support in recent years.
